Three Star Accommodation at Cranley Gardens Hotel, Kensington:
Rooms are mostly double or twin with a few triples (3 single beds) and a limited number of single rooms. All rooms are en-suite with TV and tea /coffee making facilities. The hotel has a bar, breakfast restaurant and 24 hour reception. The Saturday evening dinner will be at the Jurys Kensington Hotel, which is 3 minutes walk.

Three Star Plus Accommodation at Jurys Inn, Islington:
All rooms have double and single bed allowing double or twin occupation or a family of three. A few rooms have a double sofa bed instead of a single bed and can therefore take a family of four. All rooms are en-suite and have TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a bar, restaurant and 24-hour reception. The Saturday evening dinner will be in the hotel restaurant.

Four Star Accommodation at Jurys Kensington Hotel:
All rooms are en-suite double or twin rooms with satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has two bars, restaurant and 24-hour room service and reception. The Saturday evening dinner will be in the hotel restaurant for residents and for guests staying at the Cranley Gardens Hotel.

Our post Marathon facilities on Sunday afternoon will be at Jurys Kensington Hotel with coach/bus transfer from near the Finish.

Single Accommodation:
Single runners have the choice of sharing a twin or triple room with another runner at the normal adult price, or if you prefer not to share, having a single room or a room for single occupancy at the higher prices shown in the price list. This means that single travellers have a choice of sharing a twin room with another runner at the normal adult price or, if you prefer not to share, having a room for single occupancy on payment of the supplement shown in the price list.

Extra nights:
Most people have work and other commitments, which make a one night stay their only option. If you are able to stay longer there are plenty of reasons to do so:
You could travel down on Friday, go early to the Marathon Exhibition to register and then have time free for sightseeing, shopping or to go to a show.
You might like to stay Sunday night so that you can get a good night’s rest before making the return journey.
Whatever the reason, accommodation is available at each hotel on a bed & breakfast basis, with prices listed on the next page.

Family Rooms
Children of sixteen years or under may share a room with their parents (maximum of three persons to a room), and travel at a reduced price, depending on age (see Price List). I have a few rooms which can accommodate a family of four. If this applies to you, you need to discuss it with me before booking.

Coach travel is usually the most convenient and least expensive means of getting to the Marathon for most people. The coach from the hotel to the Start on Sunday morning is included in the package for everyone.

In providing coach travel to London I respond to demand. In my first year I had one small coach with 24 passengers from Nottinghamshire. Last year I had three coaches, two mini-coaches and an extra coach on Sunday morning for the independent travellers. Last year, I had a coach travelling from Lancashire, picking up in the West Midlands and coaches from Newcastle and West Yorkshire picking up along the M1,and A1. This year I hope to have coaches from South Wales and East Anglia.

In answer to your question: "Will there be a coach from my area?" The answer is always going to be: "Yes, if there is sufficient demand to make a coach viable." As a general rule I need about 35 passengers to make a coach viable but of course they don’t all have to be from the same town providing I can pick up en-route. Last year the first passengers on the coach from Newcastle travelled for 15 miles in solitary splendour, but by the time the coach reached London it was full. It is a classic “Chicken and Egg Situation”. The answer is to make your booking and create the demand so that I can provide the coach.

Coach travel is available at a cost of £40 for the return journey (£30 for children). There is limited availability of return coach travel on Monday for people who wish to stay Sunday night. Coach travel on Friday will be available if demand is sufficient.

All my coaches will be travelling to London on Saturday morning, with the journey timed to arrive at the Marathon Exhibition in Docklands between 12.00 noon and 1.00 pm. Please be aware that all my coaches will be going direct to the Exhibition with ample time for runners to register for the Marathon, before going on to the hotels.

The alternative to the coach is to travel independently. Last year Independent Travellers came by car, rail, air and National Express, meeting up at the hotel. Runners from Scotland flew to Luton and Stansted Airports and were picked up there by my coaches. The Congestion Charge Zone does not apply at weekends.

I will be providing coach transfers from Central London to the Marathon Exhibition on Saturday for Registration, for all Independent Travellers.
