Im not entered
for the Marathon, do you have any guaranteed places?
No, you need to sort out your own place before you book with me. Entries
for 2007 are now closed but several charities are still looking for
sponsorship volunteers for their Gold Bond places. Look in this months
Runners World.
I want to bring my family so they can cheer
me on, will they be OK while Im running?
Yes, they will travel with you to the Start. Then we have an escorted
Spectator Service, which will take them from the Start to the Finish.
Im travelling from Scotland, whats
the best way to get to London?
Last year several runners flew by Easyjet to Luton or Stansted to be
met by one of my coaches, which took them direct to the Marathon Exhibition
for Registration. Why not do the same this year?
Im running for a charity and they are
organising a Pasta Party on Saturday night before the Marathon, do I
have to have your evening meal?
No! Let me know the details and I will give you a discount for the meal.
The same applies to the facilities after the Race on Sunday.
My friend and I are running together and want
to share a room but he lives in Cornwall and is travelling by car, I
live in Newcastle and want to come by coach.
No problem, just let me know the details and I will make sure you meet
up, staying at the same hotel.
I dont want to book just yet Im
not sure how well my training is going is that all right?
Its up to you but bear in mind that last year all my rooms were
booked by mid-March and I unfortunately had to turn people away. Dont
leave it too late!
When do I have to register
on the weekend of the Marathon?
London Marathon is different to most other races in that you have to
register in person before the event. You need to register in order to
collect your running number without which you cannot run.
Registration will be situated in the Marathon Exhibition at ExCel in
Docklands. The Exhibition and Registration are open each day from Wednesday
9th April until 5.30pm on Saturday 12th April but for most people who have
to travel to London, Saturday afternoon is the only practical time to
register.
In order to make Registration as easy as possible my coaches will travel
direct to the Exhibition, arriving there at about 1.00pm so that you
will have the whole afternoon available to register and enjoy the Exhibition.
For Independent Travellers there will be coach transfers from Central
London, between 12.00 noon and 1.00pm.
After registration my coaches will take you direct to your hotel arriving
there at about 5.00pm
Of course if you travel to London on Friday, you can register in the
afternoon or evening (Registration is open until 8.00pm). This leaves
Saturday free for you to relax and be a tourist.
